Hadith Qudsi are the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) as revealed to him by the Almighty Allah. Hadith Qudsi (or Sacred Hadith) are so named because, unlike the majority of Hadith which are Prophetic Hadith, their authority (Sanad) is traced back not to the Prophet but to the Almighty.

হাদিসে কুদ্‌সী:

কুদ্‌স শব্দের অর্থ হচ্ছে - পবিত্র (দোষ-ক্রটি থেকে)। যা আল্লাহ তায়া’লার গুনবাচক নামসমূহের একটি নাম। যেহেতু এ হাদীসগুলো সরাসরি আল্লাহর সাথে সম্পৃক্ত তাই এগুলোকে ‘হাদিসে কুদ্‌সী’ নামে নামকরণ করা হয়েছে।

ইসলামী শরীয়তের চার উৎস মূলের অন্যতম হচ্ছে, ‘আল হাদিস’ পবিত্র আল কুরআনের পরেই যার স্থান। হাদিস হচ্ছে - প্রিয় নবী হযরত মোহাম্মাদ মোস্তফা (সাঃ)- এর মুখনিঃসৃত নিজস্ব বাণী ও কর্ম এবং রাসূল (সাঃ) কর্তৃক সাহাবায়ে কেরাম(রাঃ) গনের বক্তব্য ও কর্মের অনুমোদন।

হাদীসসমূহের মধ্যে এমন কতগুলো হাদীস রয়েছে যেগুলো আল্লাহর নবী (সাঃ) নিজ জবানে বর্ণনা করলেও তা মহান আল্লাহ তায়া’লার নামে বিবৃত হয়েছে। যেমন - ‘আল্লাহ তায়া’লা বলেছেন’ কিংবা ‘মহান আল্লাহ তায়া’লা বলেন’ এভাবে উল্লেখ হয়েছে। হাদীস শাস্ত্র বিশারদ - মুহাদ্দিসদের কাছে এগুলো ‘হাদীসে কুদসী’ নামে পরিচিত।

রাসূলুল্লাহ (সাঃ) যখন এ হাদিসগুলো ব্যক্ত করতেন, তখন তা সরাসরি আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে বর্ণনা করতেন। যেমন - আল্লাহ তায়া’লা বলেছেন বা বলেন, আবার কখনও বা বলতেন, ‘জিবরাঈ’লকে আল্লাহ তায়া’লা বলেছেন, কিংবা ‘জিবরাঈ’ল (আঃ) আমাকে বলেছেন।

মোট কথা যেসব হাদীসের মর্ম রাসূলুল্লাহ (সাঃ) আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে ‘ইলহাম’ কিংবা জিবরাঈ’ল (আঃ) এর মাধ্যমে জ্ঞাত হয়ে নিজ ভাষায় প্রকাশ করেছেন, তাই ‘হাদিসে কুদ্‌সী’ হিসেবে সুপরিচিত।
